A mode used to ensnare the bull is to cause its charges with unusual movements
find originals by the matador. Even Goya, Picasso as it does in this aquatint, he had represented
the bullfighter sitting on a chair in the center of the arena that gives evidence of his courage and for his temerity challenging
the bull and increasing the risk to which it exposes: see Recklessness engraving Martincho arena of
Zaragoza (from Bullfighting of Goya 1816). Picasso made particularly intense time of
show, determined by the expectation of direct confrontation between the bullfighter and the bull, through the spaces of the arena
left empty, and the excitement of the crowd in the stands, made with simple color spots.
