The property has been built within the urban fabric of the historic center of Civita d'Antino. The Ferrante palace and the adjacent Chapel Gentilizia of SS. Conception constitute such a significant portion of the building, to give the measure of the important social role played by the same name fami-glia in the history of the country.
Formerly the palace was surrounded by a large garden with a lookout over the valley where flows the river Liri; Today much of it has been built, and no longer appears attributable to his original plan. The Ferrante settled in Civita d'Antino in mid 500. The main facade, which occurs in several paintings, is characterized by an imposing portal, surmounted by a balcony, probably belonging to the first phase of construction (1600).
Ruined went Fresco dining commissioned Zahrt-mann of which today can be seen only a few meager faded traces. It remains outside the main gate the iron chain left by the Bourbons, a testimony to the living room of King Ferdinand II during his trip to Abruzzo in 1832.
